POSITION TITLE: Student Athletic Trainer

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

OVERVIEW: Opportunities are available to undergraduate students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience as student athletic trainers in the sports medicine department. Student Trainers work closely with certified athletic trainers who coordinate the evaluation, treatment, and care of injuries of student-athletes.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Student Athletic Trainer will assist with daily activities of the athletic training rooms, including pre-practice and pre-game treatment and taping; practice and contest coverage; preventative conditioning and rehabilitation programs; preparation of supplies and equipment for practice and contests; and other duties as assigned.

OPPORTUNITIES: Student Athletic Trainers will have the opportunity to work on the sidelines at athletic events, with the possibility of traveling with teams and will gain valuable experience in evaluating and treating injuries to aide in the evaluation, treatment, and care of athletic injuries to Terrapin student-athletes.
